Just weeks after it was publicly announced Amazon was shuttering leading camera review site DPReview, another content-heavy gear site – Imaging Resource – has met a similar fate. Under new owners, the publicly traded BeBop Channel Corp., the Madavor Media group of publications are now up for sale. BeBop, which is primarily a creator of content for jazz enthusiasts,  bought the Madavor Media Group for an undisclosed amount in March.

Imaging Resource went offline May 6. Madavor Media is a publisher of consumer imaging titles like Outdoor Photographer, Digital Photo and DigitalPhotoPro, as well as Imaging Resource.

According to Imaging Resource founder David Etchells, who sold the respected site in 2019, wrote in a lengthy PetaPixel post, that BeBop has purchased Madavor Group for it’s jazz-related titles and the profitable aviation publications.

Etchells noted Imaging Resource had just underwent a technology upgrade and was on the cusp of pivoting to a profitable subscription supported model.
